Charlotte Chappell

About

A passionate and motivated, Qualified and Registered IDVA, I am committed to ending gender based violence.

I have worked in the VAWG Sector for a number of years developing programmes and partnerships to end violence against women and girls.

My work has consistently entailed working with vulnerable, marginalised and deprived groups, consequently the value base that drives me centres around social justice and empowerment.

Currently I am Head of Programmes at IRISi – Leading on the national implementation of the ADViSE (Assessing for Domestic Violence in Sexual Health Environments) programme

As a Freelance Trainer I have delivered Safeguarding (Level 2) and Domestic Abuse training to Bristol City Council, Welsh Women’s Aid and other organisations.

A qualified Freedom Programme, Recovery Toolkit and CRUSH facilitator, I have delivered groups and provided support, supervision and guidance to a network of other trainers.

In my spare time I worked as a Helpline Volunteer and 121 Worker for Somerset and Avon Rape and Sexual Abuse Service (SARSAS) for many years before joining their Board in 2021 as a Trustee, where I am currently named Safeguarding Trustee.

Bespoke Consultancy

I can support your Business around implementing and refreshing DA policies and procedures as well as assessing your current training needs and knowledge. I can also provide expert advice and guidance.

Training Feedback

Feedback from colleagues tells us they really appreciate that you set expectations around the risk of triggering at the start of the course, and the guidance you give around self-care during the training.

Your material clearly demonstrates the importance of looking at the whole picture, the situation and context. Our staff come away with exactly what we need of them, an understanding of the part they can play in preventing abuse before it happens, and how they can support someone who has been subjected to violence, coercion, or control to move into a safe situation and reclaim their life.

We are grateful that you present this tough learning with great care and emotional intelligence.
